The COVID-19 vaccination programme is starting in Dorset 1 April 2025 – 17 June 2025.
Remember, your COVID-19 protection gets weaker over time.
If you are 75 or older or have a weakened immune system, it’s important to get the spring COVID-19 vaccination. This helps boost your protection so you stay safer from serious illness.
Who can get the vaccination?
If you should have a vaccination, you will be contacted directly by the NHS. This might be by text message, letter or phone call.
You will be invited to either book an appointment, or you will be offered an appointment to attend. If you are unable to attend an appointment that is offered to you, please make contact to rearrange.
The JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) says these people can have a free COVID-19 vaccination this spring:
- Anyone aged 75 or older (including those who turn 75 by 17 June 2025).
- People living in care homes for older adults.
- Anyone aged 6 months or older with a weak immune system.
For more information on who is eligible, you can check the full details in the Green Book.
