Protect yourself from flu and COVID-19 with vaccinations.

Hi, my name is Holly.

I am one of the nurses who give people vaccinations to help protect them from getting ill.

Watch this video of Holly giving people their vaccinations at their day centre in Parkstone, Poole.

About flu and COVID-19 vaccinations

We want you to stay healthy this winter.

Every winter lots of people get ill with flu or COVID-19.

Some people with a learning disability are more likely to be very ill if they get flu or COVID-19.

The best way to avoid getting very poorly with flu and COVID-19 is to have vaccinations.

These are injections and they are free.

Having your vaccinations doesn’t stop you getting flu or COVID-19 but you should feel less ill.

Family carers can also have the free flu vaccination, to help keep you and them safe.

Paid support workers can have the free flu and COVID-19 vaccination.

This helps to protect them. It also means they are less likely to pass these viruses on to you.
