Thousands of people across Dorset have already had their spring COVID-19 vaccination, helping to protect themselves from serious illness. Across the South West, almost half a million vaccinations have now been delivered since the start of this Spring programme.

Spring COVID-19 vaccinations are available for just six more weeks until 30 June. There is still time for people who have not yet come forward, especially for those who could be at greater risk of becoming very unwell from COVID-19. Spring COVID-19 vaccinations are being offered to people aged 75 or older, people with a weakened immune system and to people in care homes for older adults.

Martin Sale, Lead Vaccination Pharmacist at NHS Dorset and Dorset HealthCare said, “COVID-19 is still making people very unwell. If you’re over 75, or if you have a weakened immune system, please don’t wait. You might be a younger person going through chemotherapy or taking immunosuppressant treatment and you could be one of those most at risk of serious illness from this virus. Protection against COVID-19 fades over time, so top up your protection as soon as you can. The vaccination is quick, free and could make all the difference.”

Appointments are available to book now, with the last appointments taking place on 30 June.
